Who needs turkey? When you have beautiful treats like these, just serve dessert!
Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away; and if you’re hosting the big meal at your home, it can be a stressful time, but it doesn’t have to be. Why not focus on the turkey and the hot foods that have to be made the day of and leave the desserts to the professionals. This year I teamed up with the award winning local bakery, Queen of Cakes in Edina, Minnesota, to show you an array of choices they offer to make your Holiday table impressive without all of the extra stress your art. Queen of Cakes offers beautifully detailed and artistic cakes and desserts for holidays, weddings, birthdays, and every occasion in-between. Plus, with all of the press they’ve received in the Minneapolis area, they were my first choice to order my Thanksgiving desserts from.
In Minnesota we are often blessed with beautiful warm Fall days so I am going to show you two looks; one indoor Thanksgiving tablescape and another way to host a Fall gathering outdoors!
It’s important to have a centerpiece for your tablescape and instead of using a typical floral arrangement or cluster of pumpkins, I’m letting the star of the show, this two-tiered Salted Carmel Mocha cake from Queen of Cakes, have the stage. This cake is full of artistically detailed toppings of gold-flecked chocolate wedges, cinnamon powdered mini-donuts, and silk flowers.
So after the big meal you can clear the turkey and stuffing and reset your tables with desserts or fill your buffet with a variety to of sample size deserts as well. I set each plate with a single serve mini pumpkin cheesecake from Queen of Cakes and added a plate of their pumpkin and maple leaf frosted cut-out cookies too.
Bring the party outdoors!
Take advantage of those warm Fall days and bring the party outdoors! Grab some friends and throw a Fall gathering or bring the Thanksgiving day celebration outside and let nature be your colorful backdrop.I created a dessert station with a vintage table to display the gorgeous Salted Carmel Mocha cake and assortment of mini help-your-self desserts.
So if you want desserts to impress your guests, or are just simply craving cake after seeing all of these yummy desserts, make sure to check out Queen of Cakes in Edina, Minnesota.
